Sleeping bunnies

2 square vanilla cakes, each 20 × 20 cm 1 Poftion vanilla butter cream Food colouring : yellow, brown 6 large white marshmallows 320 g white fondant 3 small orange chocolate lentils Sugar stick: black Icing sugar, sieved 10 colourful sugar flowers 4 small yellow chocolate lentils 3 small red chocolate lentils 1. cut the cakes flat and straight with a sharp knife around the top Colour the buttercream with the yellow food colouring until the desired shade is achieved. 2. cut one of the cakes in the middle with a serrated knife. Place one half in the middle of the cake plate and stick it with some buttercream. Cut the other half in half lengthwise and stick it to one end of the cake with buttercream and the round side outwards to form the headboard of the bed. 3. spread the rest of the buttercream over the whole cake Place three marshmallows on the bed as pillows. Cut the remaining marshmallows in half and place two halves in a row under each pillow to indicate the bodies of the three bunnies under the blanket. 4. Colour 120 g of the fondant with brown food colouring. Divide 40 g into three portions and form two ears and two paws each. From the rest of the mixture make three balls for the heads of the bunnies. Moisten the ears with water and stick them to the heads. 5.with a little water fix the heads on the pillows and the orange chocolate lentils as a nose on the bunny faces. Then paint the eyes and ears with the black sugar writing. 6. for the bedspread, knead the remaining fondant on a work surface sprinkled with a little sieved icing sugar to a smooth mass. Roll out into a 25 cm rectangle, cut the corners and carefully press in a patchwork pattern with the back of a knife. 7. place the rolled out mass over the cake with the help of a dough roller and fold the upper part once just below the heads of the bunnies. Cut the excess mass at the sides of the bed. 8. stick the paws of the bunnies and then the sugar flowers onto the bedspread with a little water. Spread the yellow and red chocolate lentils on the headboard of the bed. Tip: Sugarflowers are small flowers made of icing sugar and are available in the cake department of every supermarket.
